"Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not

realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any

fish?" "No," they answered. He said, "Throw your net on the right

side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were

unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."

John 21:4-6 NIV.

Casting Your Net is a planned giving and congregational legacy

development effort of Ronnie D. Joyner Ministries Inc. and The Philadelphia Fellowship

(Baptist). We have launched this giving and legacy ministry to undergird the spiritual/financial

effort to build The Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist) Ministry Center.

An Historical Overview

On Wednesday June 7, 2000 we held our first prayer and founding meeting for The Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist) our records

show that 156 persons were in attendance and that 153 persons became "Founding Members" on that night. On Sunday

June 11, 2000 we held our first worship service and when the doors of the church were opened 128 persons joined us.

During the month of June 2000 some 336 persons became affiliated with this new work the Lord had planted. Since June 2000

some 510 persons have joined us. After moving to seven locations, the Lord has allowed us to hold 400 members In His name.

The Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist) was officially recognized as a church within the Baptist sisterhood of churches

September 29, 2000. Knowing that no church can strive nor survive without a broader sisterhood, we have aligned

ourselves with the more than 1100 churches of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, headquartered in Richmond Va.

The Ronnie D. Joyner Ministries, Inc. was incorporated in July, 2000 as a Virginia nonprofit corporation. It received its 501

C-3 status August 31, 2001. The Ronnie D. Joyner Ministries, Inc. and the Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist) will relocate

its ministry to the 3.16 acres located at 808 Providence, Chesapeake, Va 23325-3934. The sale price was $350,000.

On Oct. 10, 2001 the City Planning Commission of Chesapeake, Virginia approved our request for a conditional use permit

to construct and operate a church on the 3.16 acres of land and ratified by the Chesapeake City Council on November 20, 2001.

On December 14, 2001 we held our closing on the land. We have to re-submit our application in that our conditional use permit

has expired.

Fellowship (koinonia) references the open door or the opportunity to spread the

gospel of Jesus Christ and then to practice it in shared venues of ministry to

those evangelized by this great gospel. Thus, the Philadelphia Fellowship (Baptist)

is a "spiritual community" which will place a spiritual presence in each South

Hampton Roads City ( Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Suffolk) and fully

communicate the love of God with a strong missionary flavor. In addition to celebrating

our growth and development in two schools, we have also gathered under tents, in

three rented church facilities and in a multi-service center.

This ministry has formally adopted a Membership Covenant which outlines our Statement

of Faith and congregational polity. We have been favored by God to minister daily over our

morning radio ministry ~ The Priesthood of Prayer, airing over WGPL-1350 AM, and our

internet radio staion www.HotJoyRadio.com as well as over our internet TV station ~ www.mogulus.com/hjoy .

We have formulated a 12 Tribe Ministry depicting the letters of Philadelphia to undergird our membership stability,

evangelistic and discipleship ministries. Additionally, to build our Fellowship spiritually we have put in place A Men’s

Ministry, A Women’s Ministry, A Youth Ministry, A Senior’s Ministry and the Philadelphia Fellowship Bible Training Institute

which meets every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Each month begins with

congregational intercessory prayer from 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. over the three way conference calls systems of our telephones. We

have sustained a weekly 30 minute radio broadcast. We have celebrated the graduation of high schoolers, college

and university students and have ordained five ministers in the gospel ministry. Casting Your Net on this side of the ship will bring

blessings back to you!
